So I would like to take the time to discuss this awesome sewing pattern that I am incorporating into my product line-up this year. If you are a sewist, check out the pattern at Emmaline Bags – you wont regret it!
If you are a handmade lover, take a look at some of the eye candy photos that I am going to include and if you just can’t resist, check out my Etsy shop to see what I have in stock (I also do custom!).
First of all, the pattern is well written with lots of pictures! It includes the pattern pieces for you to cut out and a list of all of the necessary materials. The pattern designer also sells some really gorgeous hardware if you are looking for a supplier! As a crafter, I am also thrilled when the designer takes the time to like some of my photos of finished objects on Instagram!
The design itself is cute, fun and well thought out! Any product that I add to my line-up has to be functional as well as cute! This particular pattern gives you 6 card slots on each side – and they are generous enough for a couple of cards per slot – with two full width slots behind each of the card slots that are perfect for cash, chequebook or receipts. In addition, there is a central compartment that fits most average cell phones and a zippered compartment for change. I like to add a cute zipper pull to every wallet that I make!
For the sewist, I also recommend checking out the add on tutorials that have been written and there is an avid following in a group on facebook, NCW Addicts, that has tons of ideas and help for those just starting out with the pattern. I am thrilled that this group inspired me to try out some cork fabric in combination with this pattern! More items with cork fabric will be forthcoming!
For the handmade lover, check out the Wallets section of my Etsy shop for some finished product or send me an email with what sort of custom fabric you are looking for!
